It's time for my favourite pumpkin oriented holiday once again! I love Halloween, a celebration of light and autumn colours and a time to show our creativity by carving lovely lanterns. Of course it's also a time for trick or treating (which we might be a bit old for) and scaring each other to death, but personally I like to stick to candied apples and designing the best pumpkin of the year.

This season's big print trend is tartan and plaid - earlier this year than usual, plaid tends to be a winter trend but this year we are loving it's return in autumn colours. Greens, browns and oranges are dominating the autumn plaid selection, referencing the great English countryside and heritage style.

We're already more than halfway through October, believe it or not! Autumn is well and truly here and I think it might be time to start turning the heating on and 'cosifying' our homes in preparation for winter. Swap those thin summer duvets for warm winter ones and the light cotton curtains for lovely, warm wooly ones and pack your sofa with a gorgeous collection of textured throws. Does it feel warmer yet?
Let's Get Cosy

It's that time of year again when the cool linen and cotton throws aren't enough and we want something truly warm and cosy to adorn our sofas with. Fur throws are very popular at the moment, either as faux-fur luxury throws or real hide accessories, such as sheepskins or reindeer hides that can be draped over chairs or the backs of sofas for that cabin, rural look. I feel warmer already.

A little bit out of the ordinary, but this year's autumn trend colour is blue. Be it grey blue or indigo blue (a definite favourite this season), you cannot make it through AW13 without it. Blue is an unusual autumn colour - the usual trend is, as we know, towards the browns and oranges but this year is an exception... and a wonderfully welcome one.
