Exposing the floorboards in some old houses could be a cost effective alternative to installing new wooden floors. It will do the job and create some nice rustic interior look. However, floorboards were designed to be covered with a heavy layer of carpet and underlay, so draughts, squeaks and unsightly gaps are a common side effect of going back to basics. If you are aware of all the down sides of the exposed floorboards, than here is a good article by HomeBuilding & Renovating on how to expose them correctly.

Modern flat kitchen cabinets are always a good choice, but sometimes when your interior requires a bit of texture, pattern or some classical decorative features - kitchen cabinets with mouldings will be the choice. Nowadays mouldings do not mean traditional or classical. Easily by using some darker colours and metal finishes/ accessories these kitchens could be transformed to the kitchens with an industrial chic. Or by combining moulded cabinets with flat ones it is possible to play around with the balance between modern and traditional styles.

Bocci is a contemporary design and manufacturing house based in Vancouver, Canada, with a satellite company based in Berlin, Germany. Their aim is to build a healthy, flexible and stable network united under the goal of creating practical but striking consumer goods of the highest quality.

Even though their pieces focus on emotional and romantic shades of the contemporary design spectrum, they are deeply committed to rigorous and intelligent execution. They are not afraid of technical complexity and are constantly searching for technical innovation, going as far as manufacturing their own proprietary Xenon and LED lamps which have longer lamp lives and lower failure rates than any available alternative.
