We've been looking for good flat-woven rug suppliers recently and came across Sinclair Till at Decorex this year. We loved the flat woven designs from this company, producing amazing designs and a whole range of custom colours and patterns, different finishes to the edges and so on. We loved the hand made feel of the rugs and the coarseness of the natural materials used, such as wool and hemp. Interestingly, we found out afterwards that they have been in partnership with two of our favourite rug companies - Kasthall and Vandra Rug. No wonder we fell in love with their collection of Swedish-inspired, rag-rug style rugs and beautifully detailed flat woven designs!
From their website:
Founded in 1986, Sinclair Till quickly became known for its unique bespoke Linoleum designs; from simple yet elegant borders through to complex inlays. All designs were hand –cut offering a truly artisan floor. Our ‘standard’ patterns were born though anything could be designed – with or without our expert eye. Creating original floors became a passion that is still alive today.
Whilst still creating beautiful Linoleum floors for their clients Sinclair Till took the original flooring idea to a new medium and began painting sisals. Various designs and commissions were undertaken – beautiful large florals, traditional leaves with acorns and bold stripes. Paints could be mixed to match fabrics or wall-coverings so each rug or fitted carpet was tailor made for the space.
The turn of the millennium saw the expansion of Sinclair Till and the building of what is now our Rug Showroom. This architect designed space is wonderfully calming and the use of glass and steel is industrial yet elegant. We also began our long standing partnership with Kasthall, manufacturers of contemporary Swedish Rugs and Odegard Hand-knotted Rugs in wool, silk and hemp.
Offering an unrivalled selection in innovative and interesting floor coverings, the company moved towards custom-made carpets and rugs – launching the Sinclair Till Collection of flatweave designs.

Sinclair Till remains at the forefront of flooring products and more recently we have forged partnerships with Vandra Rag Rugs and have continued our own product development with contemporary Kilims and Tulu Rugs and are constantly seeking out new designs and techniques. We continue to be as excited and inspired by our products as we know you will be.

We're already more than halfway through October, believe it or not! Autumn is well and truly here and I think it might be time to start turning the heating on and 'cosifying' our homes in preparation for winter. Swap those thin summer duvets for warm winter ones and the light cotton curtains for lovely, warm wooly ones and pack your sofa with a gorgeous collection of textured throws. Does it feel warmer yet?

We met Pure Lana at this year's Decorex International trade show in London and absolutely LOVED EVERYTHING. The quality and design of every product was something different and special and everything stood out to us. Pure Lana create purely organic throws and cushions from llama and alpaca wool and some merino wool products (which were our favourite). We loved the heavy, chunky merino wool throws which were probably the softest thing I've ever touched. We also loved the stripe collection, which had a lovely handmade touch of the countryside to it. We'd certainly like to be working with Pure Lana in the near future to create some custom made designs so keep watching this space!

The 'naturally luxurious collection' of home ware products is totally organic and free from chemical dyes and bleaches. Using traditional craftsmanship, only 100% natural fibres such as cotton, raw silk, llama, alpaca, corriedale and merino are used to create luxurious throws, pillows and blankets. These soft, warm and durable pieces are the ultimate in luxury and timeless.
We have also created a luxury range of fashion accessories working with pure cashmere, alpaca, merino and sheep's wool. Timeless elegance and sophistication is the inspiration behind the accessories range. Each piece feels lovely against the skin, is beautifully made and durable.
‘Touch’ is the principal theme behind the our range. Each product is either hand woven on looms or hand-knitted with care, passion and real attention to detail which results in a uniquely comfortable, durable and luxurious texture.
The collection strives to produce the perfect alignment of stylistic elements necessary to satisfy a diverse range of tastes. Each piece within the collection is a forever product.

We had a very successful year at Maison et Objet this year with three interior designers attending the show and collecting a huge amount of brochures, catalogues, business cards and samples from tons of new suppliers. It's going to take some time to sort through everything and to organise it all in a way that is easily accessible but it was definitely a trip worth while!
I feel that this years Salon was even better than last year in terms of the number of suppliers who we can work with as interior designers and maybe even in terms of a new online shop, which we are currently developing.
For the next ten days we will be sharing our favourite finds from Paris with you. There were a lot of big brand suppliers that we have known of and used before but I always find the most interesting brands are the smaller, individual designers with something handmade and unique to share. That's why we are starting our Maison et Objet supplier review with Finnish design company Verso Design.
Verso Design is a family run company that designs traditionally styled products, such as wooden candle holders and woven birch baskets, but in a modern way that brings these well-known Finnish designs to the world market. We particularly loved the birch baskets with the sweet felt handles and the felted wool baskets that come in a lovely array of colours. Being from Finland myself, I am well exposed to traditional products such as these but it's great to see them being constantly updated and modernised in order to keep the Finnish culture and tradition alive!
