Last week we have visited Sleep Event at Bussiness Design Center and would like to share with you some of our favourite founds.
Wetroom materials have presented new ReFrame collection from Unidrain shower solutions. We have used their system before and were happy to discover their new finishes. Now that we a huge demand for brass, copper and black sanitaryware it might become a little bit complicated to match all the accessories to same finish. And I have not seen any of the shower drains in the matcing finish before either.
The collection includes shower drains, towel hooks and rail, paper holder, brush and a shelf.

So how to add some sophistication with brass into the kitchen?
1. Upgrading doors and back panels
If you like bold looks, you can change your kitchen doors or kitchen island back panels into the brass finish. This will make the kitchen to stand out for sure. If your kitchen has both base and wall cabinets it is better to upgrade only one or another, leaving others plain, otherwise it might be a bit too much. Brass is a wonderful finish, but it is important to feel the balance.
2. Splash some brass on a Splash-back
One of easiest trick to upgrade the kitchen is to upgrade the splash-back. Brass splashback will definitely help to achieve this WOW effect.
3. If you do not want to make it too strong, little details in brass, such as a kitchen tap, a lighting pendant, tableware or trims there and here will add this slight touch of the desired effect.

What I like the most is modern, minimalistic bathroom with some little 'blink'. Today it is going to be brass sanitary ware.

Bert Frank is a British brand founded in 2013. They were mostly working for the luxury lighting industry but recently they expaned their desing into furniture. We really like thow they incorporate brass (so fashionable nowdays!) into their products.
From thei website:
Luxury British lighting brand Bert Frank has expanded their design boundaries with a foray into furniture. Created in collaboration with Decca, utalising their furniture manufacturing expertise, the collection is comprised of five key pieces. With the same mid-century inspired feel as Bert Frank’s acclaimed lighting ranges, expect to find sculptural silhouettes, lustrous brass highlights and the same exacting attention to detail the company has made their signature.

William Holland are a British manufacturer of mainly copper or brass baths and wash basins. They offer a great range of products but as you can imagine, these incredible free standing baths are better suited for big bathrooms and traditional styles. This is not a style that we often go for (and I have to say quite often these bath tubs wouldn't even fit inside an average London bathroom) but what drew our attention was the fantastic display by William Holland at Decorex.
The display at Decorex was a fantastic full wall of miniature 'bathtubs' - I suppose they could have been read as basins but with the juxtaposition of these doll size replica baths next to a full sized copper bath created the feeling that these were mini baths, the purpose of which was to display the full range of finishes.
This really got us interested and we have been looking into some copper baths and how they could be used in our designs. Although they do look their best freestanding and therefore really should go into a sizeable bathroom, we feel that there is something quite contemporary about copper when used in the right way. I especially love the second image with the modern tile, atmospheric downlights and modern sink on one side... contrasted strongly with the traditional, aged brick wall and copper tub on the right. Definitely one to keep in mind!
